Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain English, what information OCRRank collects when you use ocrrank.com, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to describe only what the site actually does.
Who we are
OCRRank (ocrrank.com) is an independent editorial site that researches and ranks AI OCR and document-parsing tools. We don’t build, sell or operate any of the software we cover.
OCRRank is reader-supported. When you sign up for a tool through some outbound links on this site, we may receive a referral fee at no extra cost to you. How We Make Money and our Advertiser Disclosureexplain how that works and what it does and doesn’t affect.
This site is operated by OCRRank (ocrrank.com). You can reach us at hello@ocrrank.com.
What we don’t collect
- No accounts. There’s no sign-up, login or user profile on OCRRank, so we hold no account data.
- No payments. You can’t buy anything on OCRRank, so we never see card or payment details. If you buy a tool, you do that on the vendor’s own site, under their policies.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools to understand how the site is used: which pages people read, where visitors come from, and which guides and links are useful. We don’t use them to build a profile of you by name.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics (GA4) runs on every page. It collects, in general terms:
- the pages you view and when, and roughly how you move through the site
- approximate location (Google derives this from your IP address)
- device, operating system, browser and screen size
- the page or site that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you arrived on
- when you click an outbound link to a tool we cover, an event recording which tool and which link
GA4 stores two first-party cookies (see the table below) so it can tell repeat visits apart. Google processes this data under its own policies: see Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Opinly
Our blog runs on Opinly, and we use the Opinly analytics pixel on the site. It records, in general terms:
- the pages you view, how long a page stays open and in focus, and how far you scroll
- the referring site, campaign tags and ad click IDs in the link you arrived on
- clicks on links and buttons (the link or button text and where it points)
- device details: screen and window size, browser language and time zone
- form submissions: that a form was sent and the names of its fields, but not what you typed in them, with one exception below
Email addresses typed into forms. We have turned this off for our contact form, so the address you type there isn’t sent to Opinly.
Opinly keeps a random visitor ID, a session ID and your first-visit campaign details in your browser’s local storage (see the table below). See Opinly’s Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare
The site is served through Cloudflare, and pages load Cloudflare’s web analytics script. In our check it set no cookies and stored nothing in your browser. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
How to opt out of analytics
- Install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Block or delete cookies and site data for ocrrank.com in your browser settings. Clearing site data also removes the Opinly local-storage entries.
- Use a content or tracker blocker. The site works normally without analytics.
Ad click IDs and partner referrals
If you reach OCRRank by clicking a Google ad, the link carries a click ID (a gclid, gbraid or wbraid parameter). Our site saves that ID in a first-party cookie called _ocrrank_click_idfor 90 days. We don’t set this cookie if you arrive any other way.
When you later click through from OCRRank to a tool’s website, we add to that outbound link:
- the stored click ID, if there is one (as
gclid) - tags saying the visit came from OCRRank (
utm_source=ocrrank.com,utm_medium=ocrrank) and which tool page it was (utm_campaign)
We do this so referrals from OCRRank, including visits that started with an ad, can be attributed to the partner correctly. Some outbound links also carry a fixed referral code that identifies OCRRank to that partner.
When you arrive with a Google ad click ID, Google’s own tag also stores it (the _gcl_aw cookie and a _gcl_ls local-storage entry) so Google can measure the ad.
Once you click out, you’re on the partner’s site. Each vendor has its own privacy policy and cookies, and what they collect is up to them. Check their policy before you sign up.
Contact messages
Our contact page has a form, and you can also email hello@ocrrank.com.
- The contact form sends your name, email address and message to Formspree, the service that delivers our form messages (Formspree’s Privacy Policy), which passes them on to us by email.
- If you email hello@ocrrank.com (or partners@ocrrank.com, which goes to the same inbox), we get your email address and whatever you write. Our email provider handles that mail for us.
We use your address and message only to read and reply to you. We don’t add you to a mailing list.
Messages are kept for the default retention periods configured by Formspree and our email provider.
